OVERVIEW

Xtensio is a business communications platform used by over 450,000 professionals around the world. This case study looks at how the management consultancy Sales Alchemy Group uses the platform to help individuals and organizations optimize their sales potential by humanizing data for the new sales generation.

ADAPTING TO A CHANGING SALES PROCESS

Working with sales teams in B2C and B2B since 1999, Ron Hollis is well-versed in navigating the ins-and-outs of working with sales teams large and small. In 2019, Hollis decided to take his unique sales enablement perspective, focused on people and relationships, in a new direction, becoming Managing Partner of Austin-based consultancy Sales Alchemy Group.

Transitioning out of a larger sales position and wearing many hats, maintaining professional quality sales documentation while easily keeping visibility among his small team and projects became the main challenge. With Xtensio, Ron was able to visually illustrate complicated topics on the web that were easily updatable and adaptable. After creating the
Sales Alchemy's digital one-pager, Hollis utilized his Xtensio workspace plan, organize and implement an initiative enlisting 25 teams to participate in a sales study.

PROCESS CHALLENGES

  • Ability to translate vision easily and allow for creative progression
  • Limited time to plan and design complicated sales assets
  • Publish easily updatable and adaptable documents to the web

Transitioning out of a larger sales position meant I had to juggle wearing many different hats. I wanted something where I could take my vision and easily translate it down, something to throw boilerplates in, gain feedback and then update with real content as the initiative came together. Xtensio simplifies work, everything's in one place and I can make live updates to easily fix typos and makes changes on-the-go.

THE EVOLUTION OF A DIGITAL SALES INITIATIVE

Adding text and image modules to a blank folio, Sales Alchemy Group was able to take their vision and translate it down into the narrative framework, agenda and engagement strategy for a 5-week sales initiative.
  • Initiative Information & Registration
  • Engagement Strategy
  • Creative Progression
  • Blended Frameworks & Brand Continuity

CREATIVE PROGRESSION

Sales Alchemy Group was born on the foundation of helping sales teams increase revenue by analyzing the data around the people who are selling the product or service. After using Xtensio to create their own company one-pager and other sales and marketing materials, the team decided to launch its first sales initiative with Xtensio.

Hollis and the Sales Alchemy team partnered with a professor at Johns Hopkins University to conduct a study which would create benchmarks and indexes for learning about salespeople and understanding the DNA of the sales process.

Ron was able to put the idea for a sales opportunity strategy into a blank folio to get the story going. After creating a couple of boilerplates, the folio link was shared to gain feedback from the internal team and the partnering professor.
Interactive modules made it easy for Sales Alchemy Group to translate their vision into an
easily-digestible, digital document.

The flexibility of the live edits made it easy for the progression of this initiative to come together naturally in one place. Xtensio simplifies work by keeping everything in on place.

SALES MARKETING ENGAGEMENT STRATEGY

After finalizing the narrative with the team's feedback, Ron and his team created an engagement strategy to attract participants to the study. With limited time and resources, duplicating projects and publishing the live links made it easy to launch the initiative.

The original folio was shared as a link with the team's close network in an email campaign. The initiative was also shared with the Sales Enablement Society group on LinkedIn. For this version, a copy of the folio was created with a condensed visual representation of the full framework and agenda, plus an email form for users to sign up for the initiative.

The ability to easily duplicate and save folios as templates allowed for creative progression as the vision for the initiative came together.

A vanity URL and custom folio links give the initiative a professional and branded look without a lot of time spent on design and development.

With this tool, I'm able to blend a sales and marketing framework and keep brand continuity. If you want to differentiate your sales process and create brand continuity, this is the tool.
