OVERVIEW

This case study looks at how the New York-based 3D and Augmented Reality startup QReal discovers Xtensio as the foundation for scaling an entire customer communications strategy. After initially searching for a digital one-pager designer, the team realized that Xtensio's simple, collaborative editor and live, interactive links offer the perfect solution for defining and implementing a framework that brings consistency and efficiency to their client communications.

THE START

Designing a Digital One-Pager for an Emerging Market

Building virtual and augmented reality technologies for a variety of companies like Pepsi, Ford, Snapchat and Grubhub since 2014, Alper Guler has long been accustomed to creating and delivering high-performing products and high-quality customer communication along the way. In 2016, he co-founded the augmented reality startup QReal (formerly Kabaq.io) with a mission to expand the medium of AR and lift the brand experience by creating visual, interactive customer experiences.
When the team was initially searching for a solution like Xtensio, clearly explaining what augmented reality is and presenting how it can enhance a customer experience was the main challenge. With Xtensio, Alper and the QReal team were able to visually illustrate complicated topics on a digital medium where they could host text, photos, videos and embedded 3D models.

Augmented reality is still a new technology and we needed a design that could show text, photos, videos and embed 3D models. Our experience designing the one-pager document with Xtensio was great.

THE "AH-HA" MOMENT

A One-Pager Expands into a Variety of Other Client Deliverables

The process of designing and collaborating on the initial Q3 One-Pager opened the team's eyes to other ways Xtensio could bring efficiency to their startup's workflow and client communications.

Some of the main features and benefits that brought QReal to this discovery:
  • Interactive modules made it easy to translate QReal's company mission and product value into a comprehensive one-pager
  • With limited time to plan and design, Alper's team appreciated the ability to internally collaborate and review the one-pager on a secure team workspace
  • Publishing and sharing the live, responsive link made it easy to host interactive content and make live updates to the one-pager whenever they needed

Interactive modules made it easy for QReal to clearly explain what augmented reality is and how 3D technology can enhance the overall brand experience.

After successfully designing our one-pager, we realized that we can use Xtensio for customer pitches instead of boring presentations. Now pretty much all customer deliverables are built on Xtensio.

THE DIGITAL EVOLUTION

Now QReal's Entire Client Communications Strategy is Built and Run on Xtensio

Step 1: After using Xtensio to create their first one-pager, Alper and the team saw an opportunity to change the way they create and share client collateral for the better. No more boring slide presentations or PDF email attachments.

Step 2: QReal started exploring other Xtensio templates - the sales sheet, pitch deck and the blank slate tool. Dragging and dropping different text, image, video and chart modules makes it easy to personalize proposals and presentations for a variety of clients. And live collaboration streamlines the internal review and approval process.

Step 3: By duplicating folios and saving custom templates, QReal was able to streamline the creation process. Creating personalized client communications no longer took days, but merely minutes.

Step 4: Sharing the live, customizable folio links gives client proposals, sales pitches and deliverables a professional and personal branded look without a lot of time spent on design and development.

Currently, Qreal creates almost all of its customer-facing collateral on Xtensio, from marketing research and client pitches to project overviews and marketing materials.
  • Client Pitches & Proposals
  • Project Overviews
  • Industry & Marketing Information
  • Partnership Materials

The ability to easily duplicate and save folios as templates allow for branded client proposals and initiatives to come together quickly.
A vanity URL and custom folio links give shared links a professional and branded look without a lot of time spent on design and development.

ALPER GULER

Alper is Head of Product Innovation at QReal. After delivering 20+ AR/VR projects to companies that include Pepsi, Ford, Snapchat and Grubhub, Alper began focussing his enthusiasm in virtual and augmented reality technologies in newer endeavors. In 2015, he invested in a mobile AR startup called Pandorareality.com. And in 2016, Alper co-founded the augmented reality food startup Kabaq.io that would later become QReal.
